New Contest & FREE Upcoming Pattern!

I hope you are all having a fabulous Thursday!

My Michigan day has been filled with April showers, how perfect and fitting for the fact that we have begun our YarnWars “April Showers Bring May Flowers” Spring Contest! The contest is being held on our YarnWars Page on Facebook, and there is still time to enter! We have had several beautiful flower submissions to the contest already, I just LOVE to see all of the creative things people are making!

Make sure you visit the page and get your entry in soon! The 2 entries with the highest number of votes on their submissions will be our winners. That’s right! This contest will have 2 winners! Check out the link above to learn more about our prizes.

Just a quick announcement, I have a new pattern that will be coming out in the next couple of days. Recently I had shared a photo of a baby set I made on our Facebook Group wall.

BabyOliviaSet The hat and dress were patterns I found online:

First, let me tell you, the colors are Bernat Bright Yellow and Peony Pink. If you find the Peony Pink at your  store, make sure you grab as much of it as you need for your project right away! It is one hot color right now!  Originally, the dress was going to be all in pink. I ran out before the last couple of rows, and after a trip to 3  stores looking for that color… finding it was sold out… everywhere, I decided to incorporate the yellow. As it is,  I am so happy I did! I love the combo of the 2 colors!

The Baby Coraline Sun Hat is a free pattern from Simply  Collectible. This sweet hat was fun to make, it  was a  combination of stitches and it worked up quick! You will find sizes infant to adult
The adorable dress is by Jennifer Lynas on Ravelry. It is not a free pattern, but I’m leaving  the link anyhow in case anyone was interested.
The MaryJane booties are my creation. I will be posting the pattern in the next couple of days. I am working another pair of these, per my notes to make sure I’ve got everything in order, stitch count, etc.. I also currently only have these made to infant size, so I’d like to try and make at least a couple of other sizes for babies  and toddlers. I will  also include a full video work through on the booties.

UPDATE: Free Baby’s 1st MaryJane Booties pattern available NOW!! CLICK HERE FOR PATTERN! Video tutorial also available, and is linked to on the pattern page =)

I also just recently released my newest Free Tuscany Bag Pattern!

Tuscany Bag

The pattern features a new stitch I call the Grapevine Stitch. It is a fun bag, you can make so many different things with this stitch. You will LOVE this thick plush feel of the bag when you finish, AND, if you run into any problems, there is a full video work through on this pattern!

I want to thank you all for being a part of YarnWars, and remind everyone that there is some crazy amazing talent going on over on our group page! If you are not already a member at YarnWars on Facebook, we have our Facebook Page, which again is where the contest is being held & where you will learn of new happenings at YarnWars, and our Facebook Group where you can make some great friends from around the world, share with a fun, supportive community the cool projects you are working on, and join in on an occasional Mini-Challenge contest (usually once a month) to win fun little prizes!

Have a wonderful day everyone! See you in the group!
