You will need the following Supplies:

Yarn – Green, Yellow & Black (I used Red Heart SuperSaver)

H hook for the body – G hook for the arms & legs D hook for eyes

Small button for detachable neck piece

Scissors

Needle – blunt for hiding tails & face features and sewing for button

Thread

Stuffing

Stitch Marker

 

Crochet Techniques Used:

MC – Magic Circle (Video)

HDC – Half Double Crochet (Video)

SC – Single Crochet (Video)

INC – Increase – Work 2 stitches into 1 stitch

INV DEC – Invisible Decrease (Video)

SL – Slip stitch

CH – Chain

FO – Finish off

For directions on tasseling the yarn for hands, hair & neckband (See Video)

*Option for different size doll*

If you would like to make a smaller Grinch doll, why not, down-size your hook, or substitute SC for HDC in your body, then shortening your arm and leg length!

For a larger doll, my suggestion is to up-size your hook, make sure you do this for each different size hook used in the pattern =)

 

BODY (Using green yarn)

(We will not be chaining or joining throughout this pattern. You will work seamlessly into the next row by working your 1st stitch of each row into the 1st stitch of last row. Make sure to have stitch marker ready!)

  1. Using your H hook, create a MC, 10 HDC into MC (10)
