Upper Shoe Pattern Begins: (Right Shoe)
Round 1 – Chain 1
- 1 sc in blo of each stitch beginning with join sp. Join (36)
Round 2 – Chain 1
- In both loops, sc in ea stitch around beginning with join sp. Join (36)
Round 3 – Chain 1
- sc in next 11 stitches beginning with join space
- *skip 1 st, ext sc in next* Repeat ** for a total of 7 ext sc
- skip 1 stitch, sc in last 10 stitches. Join
Round 4 – Chain 1
- sc into 11 stitches beginning with join space
- *skip 1, hdc in nxt*, Repeat ** 2 more times for a total of 3 hdc
- skip next st, sc into next 10 stitches. Join
Round 5 – Chain 1
- slip into nxt 8 stitches beginning with join space
- chain 14, slip into 6th chain from hook & ea chain after until you reach bottom of chain.
- after working your last chain, slip back into the stitch at shoe, and continue to slip stitch into remaining stitches in round. Join

Upper Shoe Pattern Begins: (Left Shoe) (Continue on next page)
Left shoe will be worked exactly the same as the Right Shoe until Round 5.
Round 5 – Chain 1
- slip into nxt 18 stitches beginning with join space
- chain 14, slip into 6th chain from hook & ea chain after until you reach bottom of chain.
- after working your last chain, slip back into the stitch at shoe, and continue to slip stitch into remaining stitches in round. Join
-Finish Off-

PATTERN: Size 6-9 months
Size 6-9 mo – measures approximately 4 ½ ” (as stated previously in pattern, if you stitch tighter, you might want to move up to a G Hook, otherwise, this size is also made with an F hook.)
Round 1 of sole – Chain 11
- 2 sc into 2nd chain from the hook.
- sc into next 6
- hdc into next 2
- dc 7 times into last chain
-You will now be working on opposite side of your foundation chain-
- hdc in next 2 chains
- sc in next 6 chains
- 2 sc into last chain, slip to 1st sc made (join).
Round 2 of sole – Chain 2 (place marker)
- 2 hdc into same as join space
- hdc in next 9 stitches
- 2 hdc in next 7 stitches
- hdc in next 9
- 2 hdc in last stitch, join.
-You will have 36 total stitches after Round 2-
Round 3 of sole – Chain 1
- 2 sc in same as join space
- sc in next 14 stitches
- 2 sc in next st, 1 sc in nxt, 2 sc in nxt 2 st, 1 sc in nxt, 2 sc in nxt
- sc in next 14 st
- 2 sc in last stitch, join
-You will have 42 total stitches after Round 3-

Hello! Thank you for this lovely pattern which I have just come across. I am making the 12-18 month size but have found that the number of stitches mentioned in rounds 3 and 4 is incorrect, as doing a sc into 15 stitches at the beginning and the end of the round requires there to be 49 stitches rather than the 48 stitches listed in round 2. Comparing the patterns for the first two sizes of the pattern I see that you used a combination of 11 sc and then 10 sc in rounds 3 and 4 for the first size and a combination of 13 sc and then 14 sc in rounds 3 and 4 for the second size, so it seems that 15 sc at both ends of the round for the large size is indeed a misprint and should perhaps be a combination of 14 sc and then 15 sc or 15 sc and then 14 sc – it doesn’t matter which although I think using 14 followed by 15 for a left shoe and 15 followed by 14 for a right shoe curves it around slightly better perhaps. Anyhow, thanks again for the pattern which I am making in red – super cute for a little girl.

Is there a pattern for 3-6 months in the Baby’s 1st Crochet Mary Jane Booties?
There is not specifically Nicole, no, but there is only like 1/3 of an inch difference, I just suggest moving up a hook size on the size smaller or down a hook size on the size larger to achieve that size. It is such a slight difference in the size according to charts.
Is there any way I can get a copy of the PDF for the Mary Jane’s? I usually crochet when sitting on my school bus in between my routes. Having the written pattern would help tremendously. Thanks.

Hello, thank you for sharing these patterns for these adorable baby booties. However, I am confused in round 3 of sole in the 0-3 months section. It states that there will be a total of 36 stitches, but when you count ALL the stitches in the instructions, they equal 40. Am I misunderstanding a certain step? Thank you for your help.

Hi Crystal! I’m sorry, I do not, but the left shoe is exactly the same as the right shoe, the only difference is where you slip stitch to in the end to place your strap. I believe I explain it in the video. I completely understand working something visually as well… this part of it is very simple though as the strap start is the only difference. Thanks so much!

Hi Frena! I don’t currently have a specific for the 9-12 month, you are looking at a size of just under 5″ (approx 4.7 – 4.8″)- The 6-9 mth pattern is for up to 4 1/2″ when worked in f hook. The 6-9 mth pattern should work well for up to 12 mth if you move up to a G hook. If you generally crochet tighter stitches, I would suggest maybe dropping to an f hook and work the 12-18 mth to achieve that size. If you make sure to measure before continuing past the sole, you will be fine =) Please let me know if this helps. Thank you so much for the video! This is my first pair of baby booties for a new granddaughter coming this May and, while they didn’t come out exactly like yours, they look pretty close! Your instructions were very easy to follow. I do always seem to have trouble when getting to end of each “row” and where to connect to the initial chained stitches! I think my dual colored baby yarn didn’t help – perhaps if I used a little thicker, one color yarn I would be better able to see the stitches! Thank you again!

I screwed up on my first few times, but once I got the hang on not crocheting too tightly it turned out beautifully! I simply didn’t get the right shape at first, so if your getting this too, try crocheting extreemly loosly!

I have SCOURED the web for a good, dependable and CUTE crochet mary jane pattern and I am let down every time EXCEPT this time!!! Thank you SO MUCH! This was very easy to read. I started with a size 4 yarn and made the perfect 0-3 month booties. Then I went to get my pink yarn and was dismayed that I had picked up a size 3 yarn on accident but I needed to get them done. So I just used an H hook with the 6-9 month pattern and it makes the *perfect* size Newborn shoe! I’m honestly surprised this pattern is free, the shoes are beautiful and the pattern was written in such a clear, concise manner and that’s not usually true of free patterns. Thanks again!

I also am a new crocheted. I just started in October 2014. I have to start and stop your videos numerous times before I’m done. I also tend to crochet my stitches too tight. I used a g hook and my finished booties are about 3 1/2 inches long. They are really cute. They came better than I expected. Thanks so much for this pattern. Jan
